According to People.com, Whitney Houston’s official cause of death was due to accidental drowning.
Cocaine, marijuana, Benadryl and prescription meds were also found in her system.
Other factors contributing to her death include heart disease.
Houston passed away on February 11. Her body was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA.
She was laid to rest on February 19 in Westfield, New Jersey alongside her dad at the Fairview Cemetery.

After Whitney Houston peaked with her 1991 version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” and 1992′s The Bodyguard, her fans watched as, year by year, Houston’s demons were revealed to the world: Her voice grew huskier, her looks hardened. Her records, when they appeared, didn’t sell as well as they once had; her live performances revealed a performer physically and vocally rusty.
People who worked with her still find it hard to comprehend her dark side. “A lot of us talked about that, and no one could come up with an answer,” says Gerry Griffith, the A&R man who brought Houston to Clive Davis’ attention around 1982. “Where is that rebellion coming from? It didn’t come out for a while.” When it did, it came out in force, nearly destroying her personal life, career and music.
From the start, Whitney Houston was a child of both the church and the charts. Her mother, Cissy, was a Newark, New Jersey-born soprano powerhouse who sang backup on classic records by Franklin (“Ain’t No Way,” “Chain of Fools”) and Van Morrison (“Brown Eyed Girl”), and toured with Elvis Presley (when she was a member of the Sweet Inspirations). Her cousin Warwick had crossed over to pop in the Sixties and Seventies with hits like “Walk On By” and “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” Whitney, born in 1963, inherited her voice from her mother, and her elegant good looks and strong will from her father, John Houston, who worked variously as a truck driver and for the city of Newark, and who would later manage his daughter’s career.

Life & Style Weekly‘s March 5 2012 features a report that Katy Perry was played for a fool during her marriage to Russell Brand.
It’s been just two months since Katy Perry and Russell Brand split — but Russell has clearly moved on already! Life & Style can reveal that the pretty brunette spotted leaving Russell’s new LA pad in the early morning on Feb. 12 is 25-year-old model and artist Oriela Medellin Amieiro.
“It was about 9:30 in the morning, and I saw them getting into a Range Rover,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “She’d obviously stayed over at his house because she was in evening clothes and high heels. She threw her head back and laughed — it looked like she was having a good time.”
A longtime friend of the former couple tells Life & Style that Katy now wonders whether Russell really was the “changed man” he claimed to be when they married in October 2010. “I’m such a fool,” Katy recently confessed to the pal. “I believed in him.”
Sources say the Arthur star has been on a tear recently, clubbing and coming on to women all over LA. In fact, less than an hour after he dropped Mexican-born Oriela home on Feb. 12, the Brit headed over to Earth Bar in LA, where he often tries to pick up women. “Russell is very flirty with the ladies,” a frequent customer tells Life & Style. “He gets a lot of phone numbers — the women just hand over their numbers and he takes them.”
And just a week later, on Feb. 20, Russell was again surrounded by groups of women during his stand-up show at Largo in LA.
“There were girls everywhere,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. At one point during the show, he invited a sexy blonde on the stage to talk about her bondage fetishes and was “very flirty with her.” But his mood quickly changed when he found out that another woman he invited to the show was turned away. “Russell was pointing in the bouncer’s face and shouting, ‘What the f— is your problem? How could you let this happen?’” the eyewitness says. As he stormed off into the alley to his Range Rover, a women jumped into his car! “She waited for over five minutes while Russell was on his phone before they pulled away,” the eyewitness adds.
“It’s very disturbing to Katy that he’s moved on so quickly,” the friend says. “She was shocked to hear that he was out partying again and trying to pick up girls. It sickens her — she feels humiliated and burned.”

Us Weekly‘s March 5 2012 issue features news The Bachelor star Courtney Robertson‘s mind games with Ben Flajnik.
According to the mag, she admits she never found Ben attractive. Her nicknames for the other girls includes “fatty” and “horsey.” She used sleazy tactics that blinded Ben to the real Courtney.

Upon returning to Scottsdale, Arizona to tape the hometown-visits episode, “Courtney told her family she had it all wrapped up,” says a Bachelor insider. “She didn’t see any competition from, in her words, Horsey, Fatty and the Kid,” her secret names for Lindzi, Nicki and Kacie.
While Ben Flajnik’s finale choice remains a question mark – the finale airs in March, one thing is clear: Courtney is the most unscrupulous player ever to accept a rose on the hit ABC reality show. “Courtney looked at The Bachelor as a game. Ben was the prize and she was going to win,” says a set source.
“She knows exactly what to say to guys,” says a Robertson pal. Sure enough says the set source, she laid it on thick with Flajnik. “She was always like, ‘Do you like me? I really like you! I came on the show just for you.” Ben’s a nerdy guy, so having a model into him blew his mind,” says the source.
In order to snag a spot on the show during the casting process last year, Courtney put forth a carefully concocted image: the lonely model. “She came in vulnerable. She talked about not getting asked out a lot, ” says an insider.
She’s no stranger to reality TV. In 2005 she appeared (under the name Courtney Robinson) on the New Zealand reality show Treasure Island: Couples at War with her then-BF Fear Factor winner Mark Hewlett. “I guess she had a desire to be famous,” fellow competitor Jaimee Claxton tells Us. “Why else do a reality show?”

Whitney Houston‘s “going home” celebration was held Saturday, February 18 at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.
Bobby Brown was briefly in attendance and kissed Houston’s coffin and left since his nine-person entourage was turned away at the church, reports TMZ.
Aretha Franklin was supposed to be in attendance but was too sick to attend.
Houston’s The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner had a great speech and told the mourners in attendance, “People didn’t just like you, Whitney, they loved you”:

People Magazine‘s February 27 2012 issue features a tribute to Whitney Houston.
Before she was a six-time Grammy winner, before she became a glamorous pop diva who influenced generations of power-voiced belters and shattered sales records in the music industry, Whitney Houston was a shy, slight girl known as “Nippy” to her family in Newark, N.J.
“She was everyone’s dream daughter. She was sweet. She sang in church,” photographer Bette Marshall, who shot Whitney as a teenager, tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story, which chronicles the life of the troubled singer. Houston died at 48 on Feb. 11. “And you knew she’d be a superstar.”
But Houston’s ascent to superstardom was often rocky, and she struggled with her public image as America’s Singing Sweetheart.
“She was in pain from living almost a double life,” says a record exec who worked with Houston for many years. “She wanted to be down with her community. That’s who she really was. But because of her career, she also had to portray this pure pop princess in gorgeous gowns, singing songs the white community adored.”

According to the mag, Whitney told friends “don’t let me die.” Her drug dealer tells all to the mag, including the $7 million she spent on cocaine. Cops investigate the 8,000 pills she took in 6 months and her violent nights with Ray J.

Whitney Houston could not escape “the biggest devil” that she once declared — herself – in her final few months, bingeing on cocaine, booze and pills, Star magazineis exclusively reporting via RadarOnline.com.
After months of sober living during 2011, Houston, who died Feb. 11 at age 48, had fallen off the wagon and “was as bad as she ever was,” a close source told Star.
“The last three months of Whitney’s life were truly tragic,” the insider said. One eyewitness even told Star how Houston hit Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood at 10:30 p.m. PST on January 2.
“Whitney got buck-wild,” the onlooker revealed. “She drank cognac and champagne and seemed completely out of it from the moment she arrived until the moment she left, at 2:30 a.m. PST. “
Weeks later, she continued the party at the Beverly Wilshire, a luxury hotel in Beverly Hills. ”Whitney was in a lounge chair drinking pina coladas all afternoon,” another eyewitness told Star.
“Once in a while, she would get on her cell phone and start screaming at someone. She seemed almost manic at moments and practically unconscious the next.”

According to the mag, before her death Whitney told her mother Cissy she’s go back to rehab but wanted to “enjoy herself” one last time. Days away from getting help, she gave in to her tragic addictions.

Life & Style has learned that Kris Humphries is moving forward with his plans to take Kim to court, and he’s bringing the family with her.
The new issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now, reveals that New Jersey Nets forward Kris has petitioned to have his Minnesota-licensed attorney practice in California. “Kim’s freaking out,” reveals a friend.
To Kim’s dismay, any nondisclosure agreements he signed associated with their prenup or Kourtney & Kim Take New York would be void in court. “When you’re requested to answer under oath,” notes an insider close to Kris, “it’s a legal obligation. If he’s asked certain questions, he’ll be compelled to answer.”
And as if watching her daughter go through turmoil weren’t bad enough, Kris Jenner is now at the center of her own courtroom drama. Life & Style has learned exclusively that Kris is filing suit against his former mother-in-law, citing breach of fiduciary duty.
He thinks that the momager gave special treatment to Kim when she was supposed to be brokering deals for them as a couple, according to an insider. “When you have two clients, they’re supposed to be treated equally,” notes the insider. “It was a conflict of interest.”
“We’re going to let litigation take its course,” his attorney, Lee Hutton, exclusively tells Life & Style. “We plan to fully pursue all legal options.”
