Addison thinks that she could be done with therapy as she finally has everything she ever wanted…

Addison is making out with Dr. Hot (Benjamin Bratt) at the office and Sam sees them. Amelia is finally in labor so she heads to the hospital with Dr. Hot. She gives him instructions that she doesn’t want to see the baby once it’s born.

Dr. Hot comes out to talk to the gang about Amelia’s plans to donate her baby’s organs but the gang disagrees about wither this is murder or not.

Pete is in court over killing his patient and bail is denied crushing Violet. Sheldon goes to see Amelia in labor but she kicks him out. Sam and Dr. Hot argue about Amelia’s baby is alive therefore it’s murder to harvest his little body for viable organs for transplant. As Sam storms off, Dr. Hot begs Addy to get Sam to agree to harvest the baby’s heart for transplanting.

Violet goes to see Pete in jail and she begs him to cooperate but Pete won’t give in.

Sheldon asks the gang to help, as he is sure that Amelia isn’t in the right state of mind right now. But again they are split on how to proceed.

Later at home, Addy begs Sam to help with the heart surgery for Amelia’s son but Sam is pissy that he has lost Addy to Dr. Hot. And he refuses to perform the surgery. Mason (Griffin Gluck) is in a pissy mode as it’s been Mommy and Me day at school. The school sent a letter to invite Cooper but Mason threw it out instead of giving it to his father.

Amelia is suffering from labor pains but refuses pain killers. Dr. Hot tries to help but Amelia just breaks down in tears. Violet confides in Charlotte and Cooper that she hopes that he husband may stay in prison for a while.

Dr. Hot confides in Addison that none of the other thoracic surgeons will perform the heart surgery for Amelia. But he promised Amelia that he would help her. Cooper goes to see Pete to remind him that Erica died…and Mason is without her. Pete needs to swallow his pride to get out of jail for the sake of Lucas.

Charlotte will try to help Dr. Hot get a team of transplant team but she will still have to fight the lawyers. Amelia  explains there’s a need for baby organ transplants and her baby boy can do that. She asks Sam to help her do the unimaginable…and perform the surgery.

Amelia is ready to deliver and Addison still isn’t allowed in the room. Charlotte reminds Dr. Hot that the hospital lawyers haven’t signed off on the harvesting of organs yet.

Addy can’t stand it and she busts into the delivery room to help Amelia get through her delivery. Pete finally cooperates, gets bail and goes home to a surprised Violet.

After her delivery, Amelia asks Dr. Hot and Addison to see her baby boy. She says he’s the most beautiful baby ever but he isn’t breathing well. Amelia says good-bye and tells her baby his father will be waiting for him. Even Sam shows up to perform the surgery. Even though the lawyers haven’t signed off but they are going to do the harvesting anyways.

Afterwards Addy breaks down with Dr. Hot. She explains that the baby is a unicorn because Amelia was obsessed with unicorns as a kid. They are special and magical just like her baby boy. Addy is upset so she and Dr. Hot start ripping off each other’s scrubs and they finally get it on!

Dr. Hot says that he’ll bring over some Chinese food in about an hour to her house. Mason asks Charlotte if he can call her mama like she calls her mother and Charlotte agrees. Sheldon spends the whole day waiting for his BFF Amelia to wake up. Amelia says she was someone’s mom there for a few minutes. In tears Sheldon says she’s still a mom, her son just isn’t here anymore.

Pete cries to Violet hoping he won’t have to go back to prison. When Addy goes home, Sam has Henry in his arms. He says that wants Henry…and he wants Addison back.

He loves them and he should have said that he was all in when she asked him. Sam then gets down on one knee and proposes as Dr. Hot is on his way to her place with food and flowers! Yes, I think that qualifies as having just about everything Addy ever wanted!

And that’s a wrap on season 5! New episodes of Private Practice will air this fall on ABC!
