Meet Hope–she’s 17 and lives just outside Kansas City. She graduated from high school and is a part-time barista. She met baby daddy Ben a year ago–but he’s a party boy. Her friends warned her about Ben but she’s pregnant.

26 weeks 

After telling Ben she was pregnant he bailed. She tells her mom Betsy that adoption is not an option. Later Ben and Hope reconcile. But Hope feels like Ben’s just with her because of the baby.

28 weeks

Hope tells Betsy she’s moving in with Ben. But Hope’s parents haven’t met him yet! Hope’s busy working 9 hour shifts since her mom will not financially help with the baby. But Hope’s body is taking its toll and she quit her job. Later Ben tells her they are not just together for the baby.

32 weeks

Ben finally meets Hope’s parents. He tells Betsy he wants to help out with the baby in the middle of the night–it’s music to Betsy’s ears! He also assures Betsy that Hope doesn’t need to pay rent or ultilities.

36 weeks

Betsy’s worried that Hope will get her heart broken. She’s not too thrilled with Hope moving an hour away. On moving day, Betsy hates Ben’s apartment.

38 weeks

Hope’s struggling with body aches and wants to be induced early–and the doctor complies!

39 weeks

Hope, Betsy and Ben head to the hospital and after 10 hours of labor–she’ll need a C-section. After 13 hours of labor baby Tristan arrives on August 26 weighing 8 lbs.

Three days old

Baby Tristan and Hope get released from the hospital.

One week old

Ben returns to work as a bartender working late shifts as Hope takes care of Tristan on her own.

One month old

Hope’s going stir crazy in the house. When Ben returns from work, she tells him she wants to find a job.

Six weeks old

Hope gets a new job as a server as Ben’s home to take care of Tristan.

Seven weeks old

Hope talks Tristan to visit her friend Elaine at college. Elaine takes her on a tour of the campus and they meet with her friends. Hope tells her that it’s hard for her to make friends. But it seems like Hope is missing going to college.

2 months old 

Ben looks after Tristan while Hope’s at work then they trade and he heads off to work. Hope tells Ben that he’s changed a lot for the better.

In her confessional, Hope says she’s given up on her friends since baby Tristan has arrived. She sees college as being 10x harder now that she’s a young mom. Her and Ben are making it work despite the haters. She hopes her and Ben will make it in the future.
