Men in Black 3 premiered on Friday and has earned over $70 million over the memorial day weekend.
The film topped box office smash The Avengers that earned $46.9 million, reports Entertainment Weekly.
MIB 3 marks the return of Will Smith and his blockbuster films! We haven’t seen him on the big screen since 2008′s Seven Pounds.
According to EW, this will be Smith’s thirteenth film to earn over $100 million.
MIB 3‘s budget is reportedly $230 million and has earned $133.2 million overseas.
Scarlett Johansson gives her Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo credit for the film’s box-office success.
Ruffalo joined the film’s cast as a reboot of the Hulk.
According to the National Enquirer, Johansson was recently dining at Chateau Marmont when a friend congratulated her on the success of the film.
She told her male friend, “I can’t take the credit. It’s not about me. It’s not even about the special effects.”
She continued, “Mark’s unbelievable, fantastic, amazing – he makes the movie what it is.”
The Avengers has earned over $1 billion (and counting) in ticket sales since its April 11 world premiere.
The Avengers received its biggest opening weekend ever with $200 million in box office earnings!

It’s by far the biggest opening ever, shooting past the previous record of $169.2 million for the debut of last year’s Harry Potter finale.
The Avengers added $151.5 million overseas over the weekend to bring its total to $441.5 million since it began opening internationally a week earlier.
That raised the film’s worldwide haul to $641.8 million in barely a week and a half, more than its Marvel superhero forerunners Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America took in during their entire runs.
The film’s budget is an estimated $220 million!
The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder is interested in joining the upcoming film adaptation of the E.L. James’ steamy novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
Somerhalder told Ryan Seacrest, “I have the book and I just started reading it,” in a KIIS-FM interview on Monday (via Us Weekly).
On joining the film, “I absolutely would be up for that. It could be very, very amazing,” Somerhalder said.”
Fifty Shades tells the racy story of college student Anastasia Steele and billionaire Christian Grey and it has sold over 2 million copies to date!
Somerhalder wants to play Christian, “Beyond the shadow of a doubt, I think that would be a phenomenal opportunity!”

The Hunger Games was the reigning number one film…until this weekend!
According to Entertainment Tonight, Games was beat out by new Think Like A Man, the film adaptation of Steve Harvey’s best-selling book of the same title.
Think Like A Man grossed $33.3 million in its opening weekend while The Hunger Games was second with $14.5 million. Third place went to the Nicholas Sparks film adaptation of The Lucky One with $22.8 million.
Think Like A Man stars Taraji P. Henson, Michael Ealy, Kevin Hart, Jerry Ferrera, Regina Hall, Chris Brown, Romany Malco, Gabrielle Union, Terrence J, Jenifer Lewis, and Meagan Good.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch will be heading to the big screen.
According to Deadline.com, the script will soon be in the works by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.
Real Steel producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford will produce the film.
Sabrina was a cartoon series in 1969, 1971 and a live animated show with Melissa Joan Hart that aired 1996-2003.
The film reboot will be more of a superhero flick!

Luke Wilson recently had an interview with Collider.com and talked about a possible cameo in Anchorman 2!
In the original Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy film released in 2004, Wilson played lead anchor Frank Vitchard or Channel 2 news. The character lost both his arms in a rumble type fight amongst different news stations!
He told Collider.com, “I had forgotten that I’d lost both my arms, in the first one. It would be so fun to do it. I would love to do something on that.”

The Anchorman 2 sequel was announced in late March on Conan.
Olivia Wilde and Chris Hemsworth were married on set of their new film Rush.
In the film Hemsworth plays Brit race car driver James Hunt. Wilde plays his wife 1970s model wife Suzy Miller. In real life, Miller left Hunt for his friend Richard Burton and when they were to be married, Burton paid a $1 million divorce settlement.
The film is directed by Ron Howard and will be released in 2013.
They certainly make a pretty on-screen duo:

We’re thrilled that Anchorman will get a sequel!
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy was released in 2004 and starred Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carell, and Christina Applegate.
The film takes place in 1970s and features a San Diego TV station. Ferrell plays Burgundy and he dates/is competitive with the first female co-anchor (Applegate) at the station.
Anchorman made $90 million at the box office but the character is still popular and plays the jazz flute!
Ferrell was in character as Burgundy to announce the news on Wednesday’s episode of Conan!

The film stars Johnny Depp, Eva Green and is directed by Tim Burton.
The film’s about 1752-Barnabas Collins (Depp) breaks the heart of a witch named Angelique (Green) and she turns him into a vampire, and is buried alive. When he gets unearthed he returns to his home and a log of things have changed…since it’s 1972! Angelique returns and they duke it out. But he also has to deal with the new family that lives in his mansion!
The film also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Jonny Lee Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Chloë Grace Moretz.
The film releases May 11.
