The tenth season of Dancing With the Stars premiered Monday on ABC. The DWTS gang were back including new co-host Brooke Burke. Here are some highlights:
The first couple to dance was NFL star Chad Ochocinco and dancing partner Cheryl Burke. They danced the Cha-cha-cha. Their routine was fun and upbeat with a score of 18.
Actress Shannen Doherty and dancing partner Mark Ballas danced the Viennese waltz. It was touching as she danced her dad who was in the audience. They had a score of 18.
TV personality Erin Andrews and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the Cha-cha-cha. Their first meeting was strange at best as she told Maksim that she’s heard he’s pretty hard on his partner. To which she also said she originally asked for Tony to be her partner. Len called her a ”funky monkey.” They received a score of 21.
The Bachelor star Jake Pavelka and his partner Chelsie Hightower were next and they danced the Viennese waltz. In the audience Jake’s fiancee Vienna Girardi was in attendance with Gia Allemand sitting next to her. They received a score of 20.
TV personality/actress Niecy Nash and partner Louis van Amstel was next and they danced the Cha-cha-cha. Len said their routine was clean, clear, and precise. Niecy said she dedicated her routine ”to all the thick girls out there.” They received a score of 18.
Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and his dancing partner Anna Trebunskaya were next and they danced the Viennese waltz. Len said, “get chemistry between the two of you.” They received a score of 23.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and his dancing partner Ashly Costa were next. They danced the Cha-cha-cha with Bruno saying ”it looked like you still had your moon boots on.” They received a score of 14.
Singer Nicole Scherzinger and dancing partner Derek Hough were next and danced the Viennese waltz. Bruno said, “I am astounded.” They received a score of 25.
Soap star Aiden Turner and his dancing partner Edyta Sliwinska were next and danced the Cha-cha-cha. They didn’t receive the best feedback from the judges. They received a score of 15.
Reality TV star Kate Gosselin and her dancing partner Tony Donovali were next. They danced the Viennese waltz. Len said to Kate “you looked nervous, you didn’t come out and dance with any fluidity.” They received a score of 16.
Actress Pamela Anderson and her dancing partner Damian Whitewood were the last couple of the night. They danced the Cha-cha-cha. Bruno said “Striperella is back!” Len said, “it was a mess.” They received a score of 21.
The first celebrity to be voted out with air next Monday on ABC.
