Steven Tyler is featured in the October 2011 issue of Boston Common Magazine.
In the issue Steven talks his process of songwriting:
“So many things go on behind the scenes with me when I’m writing lyrics. Like what I’m thinking about when the band takes seven months to do a record, or what I’m thinking about when I’m on tour. I’d write this stuff down moment to moment.”
He talks Aerosmith:
“I always felt that from day one, since the band got together and we started playing clubs like Bunratty’s in Boston and high schools all over. I always felt that this band was magical and there would be a movie done about us. As long as I stay healthy.”
Steven also talks life lessons from his father:
“He had to teach me to calm down, how to take it easy. Which isn’t something I do a lot. But when I do, it’s because I think about my father. I will miss seeing him, hearing him. The whole era. The patriarch and the passing of the torch.”
American Idol will likely return with new episodes in January 2012 on Fox.
