Alison Sweeney is featured in the August 2011 issue of Self Magazine.
In the issue Alison talks about getting fit:
“I’ve been on Days since I was 16, and being surrounded by such thin, gorgeous actresses made me so insecure and self-conscious.” In 1999, Sweeney decided she’d had enough. She ditched fads like cabbage soup and grapefruit diets, made healthy changes like cutting out sugary sodas and started exercising at boot camp–style gym classes. The result? She dropped close to 30 pounds. “As soon as I made it about being healthy and shifted my focus away from the scale, the weight started to come off.”
She also talks sticking to her workout schedule:
“I used to be like, ‘Oh, I’m going to miss Spin. I guess I can’t work out today.’ Well, no! I can do Bob [Harper's] or Jillian’s workout DVDs at home. I can do push-ups or walk the dog. I have too many options at the ready to have any excuses.”
