Marie Osmond is featured in the July 2011 issue of Prevention.
In the issue Marie talks staying healthy & fit:
“I started walking. I love to read, so I would walk outside and listen to books I had downloaded. I was almost fifty pounds overweight. I’d think about going into a gym, and it would be depressing–everybody there is in shape! Dancing With the Stars was the catalyst. There’s nothing more humiliating than wearing spandex when you’re forty pounds overweight. My top weight in 2007 was 165 pounds.”
She also talks coping with grief:
“It comes and goes and comes and goes. It’s not a fun sorority to belong to. I have great faith in God. Without faith, I don’t know how I would have been able to get through what I’ve been through. … Serve other people. Find a little lady in the neighborhood who’s getting old and tell your son to go mow her lawn. Take cookies to somebody, ring the bell, and run. Just find fun little things you can do. Yes, it’s work, but it makes you feel good.”
