Top Chef‘s Padma Lakshmi is featured in the April 2011 issue of Cosmopolitan India.
In the issue Padma talks motherhood:
“I still want to be a productive professional woman, but I have to balance it with a bigger priority that is being a present and active mother. I have arranged my life in such a way that allows me to do both those things, but my child takes precedence of course. For example, I work really close to home, so even if I have just 10 minutes between meetings, I go over and spend it with my daughter.”
She talks turning 40:
“I’ve only just turned 40 in September so I have yet to discover what this decade is about. My only resolution is to be the best mom I can and to have more fun, to just really play and have personal play time.”
Padma also talks her earl childhood memories of food and cooking:
“My earliest memories of food are eating spicy and sour Indian pickles at my grandma’s house in Madras when I was two-years-old. I have always had a curious palate and the nose of a bloodhound, and I think it’s what stimulated my interest in food. I can taste a dish and tell you what’s in it.”
