A brand new season of Survivor debuted Wednesday night and this time host Jeff Probst along with the gang head to Nicaragua for the new 21st season. This season is also back with 20 contestants.
Before the contestants are divided into tribes they must play in their first challenge, the hunt for the Medallion of Power.
First challenge: Medallion of Power
A new power is added to the new season and it goes by the name Medallion of Power. The Medallion can be used by the tribe that possesses it in order to have an advantage in the challenges. If the tribe that has it decides not to use it, they get to keep it.
Brenda finds it hanging from a tree. She gets the option of keeping it or trading it in for fishing gear and fire. She has to decide with her tribe. They decide to keep the fishing gear and give the MoP to Espada.
After completing the Medallion of Power challenge the contestants were immediately divided into two tribes based on their age.

Getting settled at their camps
The Espada tribe finds it hard to believe Super Bowl winning coach Jimmy Johnson is on Survivor. Holly and Wendy form an alliance. Jane takes charge getting a fire going using a pair of reading glasses. Jimmy overexerts himself and he starts throwing up. The next day he admits it was a difficult night and he barely got any sleep.
At the La Flor tribe Fabio aka Justin is seen as a clumsy, accident prone ”dumb blonde.” Shannon wants to get the guys on the tribe to ban together and beat the girls. Kelly B. reveals that her right leg is amputated and she wears a prosthetic leg. Brenda and Chase form a close bond but he’s already made an alliance with Shannon. He basically told Brenda he’s got a male alliance going on.
Hidden Immunity Idol
At La Flor Alina and Kelly B. read the clue for the hidden immunity idol. Alina admits she doesn’t want to be in alliance with Kelly B. as in the end she’ll get the sympathy vote.
Immunity Challenge
MoP: If Espada choose to use it they will already have a bucket of water. They decide to keep it and not use it in this challenge.
One person is at the top pouring water with 5 tribe members guide the water through gutters. Once the barrels are full with water at the bottom, the puzzle pieces with drop. La Flor’s puzzle pieces drop first and shortly after Espada’s drops as well.
La Flor wins the first immunity challenge, as they complete their puzzle first.
Tribal Council/The tribe has spoken
Since Espada lost the immunity challenge, they’ve got a meeting with Jeff at tribal council. Wendy admits no one has really connected with her or even asked her questions about her life.
With 6 votes Wendy is the first person voted out of Survivor.

Next week on Survivor
Someone fills Fabio’s shoes with sand and throws them into the water. Also: it seems like a pretty drama filled tribal council, can’t wait.
Survivor Nicaragua continues next Wednesday on CBS.
