Bachelor Pad season finale recap: “love is more important than money”

A new episode of Bachelor Pad aired Monday on ABC and we’ve got a recap in case you missed it. Here’s what happened:

Dance competition with DWTS pros

Jake Pavelka, Melissa Rycroft-Strickland, and Trista Rehn were the judges for the competition as they’ve been Bachelor/Bachelorette stars that we also featured on Dancing With the Stars.

It was a close competition as the remaining contestant all danced their heart out, complete with glittery costumes.

Tenley and Kiptyn won, for winning they both decided which remaining couple they wanted to join them in the final. In a surprising twist they chose Natalie & Dave.

As a result Kovacs and Elizabeth were eliminated. They both were driven in separate limos. Elizabeth says love is more important than money. Kovacs says he was hoping to win lots of money and he got a relationship instead.

Updates on the past contestants

The second hour of the season finale featured all the past contestants giving updates on what they’ve been up to.

  • It turns out Gia and Wes are dating and shared a smooch onstage.
  • Kovacs and Elizabeth are dunzo and she even calls him a player. He’s dating some other chick who is not on the show.
  • Who knew: Tenley & Kiptyn are in a relationship as are Natalie & Dave.

Past contestants are back

Bachelor Pad takes on a Survivor-esque approach as the eliminated contestants or “jury” all asked Natalie, Tenley, Kiptyn, and Dave questions. Just like Survivor, they don’t hold back on their grilling/questioning.

After the questioning each “couple” has to make their finale plea. Everyone has a pretty short speech but Tenley’s went on for awhile.

The “jury” of 15 past eliminated contestants has to then vote for who they want in the finals, whichever couple that gets to 8 votes first, they will be the final couple.

Here’s how everyone voted:

Craig: Kiptyn & Tenley

Jessie S.: Natalie & Dave

Weatherman: Kiptyn & Tenley

Jesse: Natalie & Dave

Krisily: Natalie & Dave

Peyton: Natalie & Dave

Juan: Kiptyn & Tenley

Gwen: Kiptyn & Tenley

Ashley: Natalie & Dave

Michelle: Natalie & Dave

Nikki: Natalie & Dave

Wes: Natalie & Dave

Although it seems like Tenley had Kiptyn have good intentions, they only receive 4 votes.

The final couple is:

Natalie and Dave. They were the first couple to get 8 votes from the jury.

For love or money??

Now that Natalie and Dave are the final couple, the game so to speak is not over yet.

They need to decide separately if they will keep the $250,000 for themselves or share with their partner. They have to make the decision on their own and have no time to talk it over together.

The rules are if one of them chooses to keep the money, and the other person chooses to share, the one who chose to keep would get all the money.

If they both chose to share, they would split the money.

If they both chose to keep, the remaining cast members would split the money.

Final decision

Natalie and Dave decide to share the money so they’re the only ones who get to split the $250,000.
