French Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotilliard is featured in Vogue‘s July 2010 issue.
In the issue Marion talks about Edith Piaf living inside her. She played Piaf in La Vie En Rose. The role earned Marion a BAFTA Awards, a César, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar.
She says, “I learned how to make the space inside me for her to come in. It was there [on a trip to South America] that I found myself articulating why Piaf was still living inside me. She had been abandoned as a child; her greatest fear was to be alone. Now I didn’t want to abandon her. I finally was able to say, ‘She’s been dead for 40 years; it’s OK.’”
Marion’s new film Inception with Leo DiCaprio releases July 16.
